5 of the Top Cafes in Tirana
Komiteti – Kafe Muzeum
This spot is a very cool experience. As well as tasty coffee. It’s also just a short walk from the center, so it won’t be out of your way, no matter where you’re staying.
They also have a variety of raki if you want something a little stronger than coffee. Try and take a look around the place too, as there is a lot to see. It’s a great place to capture some cool photos for a great memory too.
Location: right across from the Pyramid
By the Lake (Liqeni Artificial i Tiranës)
If you’ve found yourself looking for some greenery in the city, or possibly following my One Day in Tirana itinerary, you’ll definitely end up at the lake.
There are a couple of choices here right on the lake directly next to each other. (Bar Gjahtaret + Lakeview Bar)
They are both great views with delicious coffee. I prefer the one that is just slightly closer to going deeper on the trails (Bar Gjahtaret), as you are just a bit further from the main road.
The view here is so relaxing as you’re right on the lake. So, it’s a calming experience when you’re right in the city.
Location: along the lake
Le Bon
My favorite location is near Zogu i Zi. The coffee and pastry experience is just perfect. It’s my favorite cafe/bakery in the city.
They also have a beautiful spread of cakes.
As well, they serve up lunch – cafeteria style that is equally as good and terrific prices. On the pastry side – I suggest trying byrek here.
There are Le Bon’s in different locations throughout the city too. If you end up here first, you may never try the other coffee spots.
Location: various locations, just check google maps
Mulliri
This place has a nice selection of coffee, not just espresso but a few other options, if you want a bigger and/or sweeter coffee. You can even buy coffee beans and they’ll grind them here for you too. Just in case you’ll be staying in Tirana for a while (it makes a great gift to bring home to fellow coffee lovers).
They’re friendly here, and always consistently good. They have a very decent selection of pastries too. There are several locations, but my favorite is near the Taiwan Complex. It has a nice area to sit outside (they also tend to have cold brew at this location). But, you will see many Mulliri cafe’s throughout the city.

Mon Cheri
This is also a chain spread throughout the city. It has such a pleasant atmosphere and fun decor. They also have quite a selection of coffee ranging from strong to sweet. All of which are tasty. When I’m in the mood for a sweet coffee, this is my go to spot. You will also find a range of pastries and sandwiches.
Location: several throughout the city
Some Coffee to Try
I suggest trying all of these if possible. There are so many other cafes in Tirana to choose from.
Some coffee to try: espresso of course, macchiato, freddo espresso— a frothy iced double espresso that’s huge in Albania and Greece, and my personal favorite way to drink coffee in Tirana. And, if you want a sweet frappucino-like coffee, go for a blended coffee at Mulliri or Mon Cheri.
If you love espresso and a relaxed coffee culture you’ll love it in Tirana. You can’t go wrong really. At any spot in Tirana or Albania for that matter. But, these are my favorites, not only for taste but for atmosphere as well.
