Ksamil, Albania has beaches that completely reminded me of the beaches in Thailand. I’ll share where some of the best beach spots for lazing away a sunny day are.
Ksamil sits at the southern tip of the Albanian Riviera. You may have wondered, “Does Albania have nice beaches? And, if so, where are some of these hidden gems on the Albania Coast?” Ksamil is definitely noteworthy for its beaches.
Let’s take a look at the best Ksamil beaches!
Ksamil
Ksamil is a small little village that you can get around easily on foot. It has several small little beaches strung along the coast.
I fell in love with Ksamil before it became super popular. It’s a completely different experience if you visit early June or in September. I’ve now visited during peak season – August. It was very busy and too many tourists. I struggle with recommending it as it seems overrun with tourists at times. Be a conscious traveler and keep in mind the price can very depending on when you visit.
Ksamil Tips
On the Beach in Ksamil
For all of these beaches, you have to pay for the beach chair and umbrella. Typically two chairs and one umbrella. It’s very similar to lido style in Italy as well as Greece from my experience. The person you will pay typically will come up to you to get the money. And, also put up the umbrella if you so wish.
You have the spot for the whole day if you like. If you choose to leave for lunch, to go for a walk, or take a nap, everyone leaves their towels/beach stuff there -to save their spot. I’d never had any trouble with this. Of course, don’t leave valuables.
I usually arrived early either to scope out which beach I wanted to settle in for the day and had no problem finding a sun bed.
Getting To/From Ksamil
If you stay in Saranda, there is a bus that costs about $1 USD one-way. In Ksamil, there are a few spots to get off the bus. Keep an eye on Google Maps and possibly even check with the bus conductor. The bus conductor helped me the first time I arrived in Ksamil by bus. (Location of the bus stop for most of the beaches below: Q293+84 Ksamil, Albania)
Money
Have cash. It’ll make everything much easier. There are ATMs/cash points in Ksamil just in case. There is one very close to the bus stop (location in previous paragraph).
I would like to note that it’s a bit hard to know the exact name of some of the beaches below. But, searching these on google maps, you should find them easily. I will also include the Google coordinates to make it even easier.
Best Ksamil Beaches
Ksamil Beach/Plazhi Ksamil 7
So, let’s just get this popular beach out of the way first. There are several in this vicinity. This area is a bit more touristy. Maybe a little more exciting for some.
And, if you want that Instagram shot you see when you search Ksamil. This will be the area. Obviously, the beaches right here are amazing. It’s worth checking out.

But, I prefer the following ones. If you are more of a slow traveler and want a bit more peace and quiet, like myself, you’ll enjoy these beaches more. You really can’t go wrong with a sandy beach and clear water in Ksamil.
The next four beaches are close to each other. Just literally within a couple of minutes walk of each other.
Castle Beach (below Hotel Castle)
This one and the next are right next to each other. You might not even notice that they are different beaches. But, you will be paying someone different. It has a little beach bar where you can get drinks. There are cafes, restaurants and a little shop just a short walk away.
Someone local recommended this beach to me. And, I was very happy here. A lot of families were at this beach. This will always be a go to beach for me when in Ksamil.

Plazhi Ksamil 9
This beach is literally right next to the previous beach. So, it shares similar qualities, it’s family friendly and a beautiful beach spot. There is a restaurant right above, where you can order a drink or eat a meal.
Location: QX9X+58M, Ksamil, Albania
Black Pearl Ksamil
This is technically the name of the restaurant attached. It’s a very small beach. You can also have lunch on a small patio-esque area above the water here.
I found this to be my kind of ideal beach spot. If I would’ve found it earlier, I may not have gone to another beach.
There’s a little bar, where you can order coffee, soft drinks or beer and other assortments. There’s also a restaurant as mentioned above. There’s also a bathroom in the restaurant.
Location: QX9X+P8 Ksamil, Albania
Africana Beach Club Ksamil
This is a picture perfect spot, if there ever were one. It’s so cool. I had actually noticed it from one of the other beaches. And, I had to go check it out. I only had a cocktail here in this cool little beach bar.
It is very close to the previous beach – Black Pearl Ksamil.
Location: QX9X+W2 Ksamil, Albania
Lori Beach
When I first saw the view here, it was like heaven! It was a very quiet little beach tucked away. I’m so glad I went searching for it.
It was also a bit cheaper than the other beaches too.
There is a restaurant where you can have lunch if you stay planted here all day (like I did). There is also a bathroom located behind the restaurant. It was nice to have everything right there.
Actually, just writing this is making me long for being back at this very beach!
It is about a 7-10 minute walk from Hotel Castle. So, it might be a bit further from the other locations. There are also other beaches in this area too.
Location: QX8V+GRM Ksamil, Albania
Rilinda Beach ( at Rilinda Restaurant)
This beach is on the side that is more popular. I loved this spot, it wasn’t such a big area for beach beds, and the water was nice. There is a nice restaurant here to grab coffee, drinks to have on the beach or eat a meal at the restaurant.

Best Time to visit Ksamil Beaches
From personal experience early June and September are perfect for weather and crowds. Even May, all of June or October are good choices too. I’ve been in August and it is packed on the beach and likely prices for sunbeds are higher.
So, if you haven’t noticed, Ksamil beaches are worth checking out. Honestly, Ksamil might have my favorite beaches of anywhere I’ve ever been (so far, anyhow, and not in peak season).
